Before & After School Program

In cooperation with the local school districts, the Youth Commission offers the convenience of an after school program at neighborhood elementary schools. Programming is available before school in the mornings (6:45 a.m. until school begins) and after school until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are also 3 Youth Centers: the Fargo Youth Center, Youth Center at Rose Creek and Moorhead Youth Center. Our Youth Centers are equipped with a gym, game room, media room, computer lab, arts and crafts and much more!

Scheduling is designed by the parents and billed accordingly; parents are charged for requested days of attendance. Site Supervisors and Youth Workers are college students majoring in such fields as education and child development. All staff members are screened with criminal background checks and trained on computerized training modules. Additional training requirements are First Aid and CPR certifications and age appropriate child management. All parents are given a current copy of the Parent Handbook, containing policies and procedures for site management and parent responsibilities.

The children attending the program will receive a nutritious snack and be given the opportunity to participate in group recreational activities, arts & craft activities, a reading program, field trips, as well as receive homework assistance from the
Youth Commission staff. The goal of the Youth Commission program is to create a climate of warmth and acceptance for every child.

This program is extremely affordable. Scheduling is designed by the parents and billed accordingly. PAY ONLY FOR THE DAYS OF SCHEDULED ATTENDANCE! Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.  Registration forms are available online or at the
